About

Hello, my name is Nicole Harrow.

I am a middle child (#3 of 4 siblings), Mother to two incredible sons, and have an insatiable desire for dresses, philosophy, coffee, pajamas, pie, and pets (my husband is a fabulous gate keeper and has managed to keep us at 2 cats, 1 dog and 4 chickens). I prefer questions over answers. I find it impossible to swim in the ocean without thinking about sharks. My dreams ramp up around the full moon and hiking is one of my favorite pastimes. I’ve found that the magic in life lies in what often passes for mundane and that discomfort eventually leads me to my deepest joys.

I fell in love with practicing yoga in 2000 and I’ve been teaching since 2007. When I began practicing I was about as flexible as a pencil. In forward fold my fingertips dangled just past my knees. Aside from running a little cross country in high school I avoided any athletic activities as much as possible. But Yoga felt like coming home not only to my body but to my spirit. The combinations of postures felt like a dancing prayer (they still do). The wisdom of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras changed my relationship to discomfort and thus to life in a profound way.

I completed my first 200 hr teacher training in 2007 with Jolie Cash. My motivation for doing this training was to get deeper into the physical practice. Specifically I had this notion that by the end of the training I could finally practice the splits - hanumanasana. While that particular fantasy never came to fruition, I did end up discovering that I loved teaching. In 2014, I completed another 200hr training with my mentor Lakshmi Norwood.

I teach vinyasa flow, slow alchemy and restorative yin classes. My passion for the mystery of life and yoga philosophy are woven into each class that I teach. My favorite way to begin a class is with a thought provoking question.

Slow Alchemy classes have a luxurious pace and focuses on softly opening the energetic channels of the body. This class is accessible to all levels of practitioners.

Teaching Yoga is an opportunity for me to offer a space of unconditional love, grounded support, and playful curiosity. My hope is that through practicing you experience the simple and transformative joy of coming home to yourself.

With Love,

Nicole
